Special Announcement (June 29, 2008)

June 29, 2008 marked the last Sunday for Moriguchi International Chapel. MIC was started almost 18 and a half years ago, and many people have come to know the Lord during that time.

For a number of reasons, MIC will be closing for the time being. We hope to return to Osaka in the future and establish a church there in our own building (rather than using rental facilities on Sundays only). We are thankful that the Lord allowed us to minister in Moriguchi and share His good news with so many people, and we look forward to what He will do in Osaka through ICM in the future.

During that final evening on June 29, there was a special closing service featuring heart-felt testimonies from some of the people who trusted in the Lord at MIC over the years. About 50 people attended, and we were blessed with amazing testimonies of God¹s grace by Setsuko Iiyama, Naoko Takahashi, Tomomi Higashino, Chika Yamamoto, and Hitomi Tamura. The room was filled with praises to God, and many of us were moved to tears! Several Moriguchi Chapel friends that we had not seen for many years returned and joined us for the special night. The testimony and praise time was followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. It was like a taste of Heaven, and we were encouraged by our brothers and sisters from other Chapels who came to give their support! Thank you!

The general feeling seemed to be that this was not the end of MIC but merely a break until we can regroup and try again. James Blocksom ended the service with a challenge to the members to pray that God would provide a way for us to return to Osaka.
